Javier Linares

Summary

I'm an engineer with deep experience on programming (mainly PHP, some Ruby), system scripting (Perl, bash), frameworks (drupal, lemurframework), database administration and fine tunning (MySQL), source control (cvs/svn, darcs, git), caching (CDNs, memcached, varnish), streaming (live and on demand video), tests (phpunit), high performance and high availability.

I have also experience in both (i) the art of running your own company and (ii) the art of working for a big one. So joinning both experiences I have dealt with getting projects/gigs, project management, development time, (sometimes strange) corporate policies, 24x7, HTML standards & browser compatibility, user support, hiring & motivating people and, last but not least, money.

I am available for work.

Experience

I have been working with Drupal for more than 6 years. Running al.quimia.net I worked in support, consultory and custom development for a lot of different customers. I also lead the migration of motogp.com to Drupal.

I led motogp.com development and system teams for 3 years. We worked very hard on high performance, high availability, CDN integration (both Akamai and Level3) and systems fine tunning. User experience and user support was also a key point of our project. We released the core of the backend code as GPL.
